Parking Permits

Resident passes are available at the Town Hall.  You must show your current motor vehicle registration to obtain the pass.  A maximum of 3 decals per residence will be issued. Renters will be required to show a copy of their lease or other proof of residency, in addition to their motor vehicle registration.   The Resident pass allows vehicles (residents only) to park in locations that are posted "Permit Parking" and free access to The Great Island Common. A leased vehicle must be registered in the town of New Castle in order to obtain a resident sticker.

We ask that ALL previous town decals be removed to avoid confusion from colors of stickers used in previous years.

Non-Resident passes are sold at the New Castle Rec. Center (adjacent to The Great Island Common Gate) starting at 7am on Saturday, May 19, 2007 for a fee of $75 per pass (fee set annually by the Board of Selectment).  This pass allows the holder free use of the Great Island Commons for the season as indicated on the pass (i.e. 2007 Season).  The pass does not allow the holder to park in locations that are posted "Permit Parking" areas.

Recycling & Trash Collection

Recycling and Trash pickup is on Thursday mornings for the entire town, by Waste Management, our contractor.  The Town of New Castle encourages all residents to recycle.  The items that are recycleable in this community are:

Any resident upon proof of residency may pick-up a recycling bin at the Town Hall during normal business hours. The fee for the bin is $6.00.
