RULES FOR RESIDENT BOAT STORAGE
NEW CASTLE COMMON 2006 - 2007
Bona fide residents of the Town of New Castle will be permitted to store their personal boats, trailers, vans or other items for recreational purposes. No commercial boats to be stored on The Common grounds.
STORAGE DATES: September 18, 2006 through June 10, 2007
Boats - trailers are brought in by appointment only after paperwork has been completed.
- NO boats will be accepted for storage without an appointment and a completed application form so the town can direct placement. A copy of the rental agreement must accompany each boat when it arrives for storage.
- FINES: All boats must be removed from the Common by June 10, 2007. Any boats remaining after this date shall be fined $100.00 per day. All paraphernalia such as boat stanchions, cradles, stands, etc. must be removed at the same time. NO EXCUSES AND NO EXCEPTIONS. Boats are allowed in for winter storage on Sept. 18, 2006.
- BOAT SIZE: Minimum length is 15' and maximum length is 45'.
- FEES: $6.50 per foot. Payment is expected at time of application. Checks payable to: Town of New Castle.
- MAINTENANCE: Repairs will be limited to reasonable maintenance - defined as: minor repairs, sanding, painting, caulking, and waxing. NO MAJOR OVERHAULS OR REPAIRS TO BE DONE.
- TRASH: Debris generated by boat owners during maintenance will be the responsibility of the boat-trailer owner.
- UTILITIES: The Town will supply electricity and water for maintenance use.
- STORAGE AREA: Boat storage is restricted to the area designated by the Board of Selectmen. Please place plywood under stanchions.
- SECURITY: No security provided.
- INSURANCE: The Town requests a copy of the boat/trailer insurance.
- The Town of New Castle reserves the right to restrict use of this area for boat/trailer storage, and will authorize use on a yearly (seasonal) basis.
- Boat/trailer owners must agree to bear full responsibility for their boats/trailers. Any damage caused in the moving or removing of a boat/trailer, fire, theft, vandalism, or the elements are the full responsibility of the BOAT/TRAILER OWNER.
- Boat/trailer owners must complete town application forms prior to storing boat at the Common.&nbps; Failure to comply with this request will result in removal of the boat.
- Failure to comply with any of the above regulations will result in the refusal to store boats/trailers in the future, or the refusal to allow the boat to be removed until all fines are paid.
