Child Safety Policy

  1. A parent or other adult who is responsible for the child should accompany all children 8 years old and younger.
  2. At the discretion of a responsible adult, a child age 9 or older may be left unattended to read for pleasure, select materials, complete a homework assignment, or attend a program. The child must know how to reach their adult in case this need arises.
  3. The parent/guardian is responsible for insuring appropriate behavior of their children in the library. Disruptive behavior, such as running and shouting, will not be permitted. In the case of unaccompanied children, a parent/guardian will be called to pick them up.
  4. Young children accompanied by a parent/guardian may use a computer for educational and recreational purposes. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure appropriate use of the computer.
