Library User Policy

  1. The library will serve all residents of the community.  Persons residing outside the geographical area but owning property, attending schools, or working in town shall be considered residents.  Guests of residents may borrow books under the name of the resident.  Individuals may be requested to show proof of residence.
  2. Non-residents may apply for a library card that will be issued annually.  Visitors temporarily docked at the Wentworth-by-the-Sea Marina, and other temporary residents, will be required to pay a $20 deposit for use of library materials.  This deposit will be fully refunded upon return of all library materials.
  3. Use of the library or its services may be denied by the Librarian or Trustees for due cause.  Such cause may be failure to return books or pay penalties, destruction of library property, disturbance of other patrons, or any other objectionable conduct on library premises.
  4. The Macomber Room will be used for library purposes during library hours.  Outside of library hours the room may be reserved by telephoning the town office, which controls the schedule for the room.
  5. In accordance with the Privacy Act, numerical library cards will be issued to each individual member of a family reaching school age.  These cards must be presented each time library materials are checked out.
