Safe Path September 2023 Latest Update

Safepath update:

A visit is worth a thousand words.  Hopefully by now you’ve checked out the progress made  adjacent to New Castle  Recreation Center and Library and through the wooded area in front of the Commons.  Ben Holmes (see photo) and his team from Rye Beach Landscaping have made great progress, continuing to be thoughtful about minimizing removal of plantings and ledge as they create an esthetic path that is easy to navigate.  They have installed the drainage pipe needed to create a path over the wet culvert and have kept enough curves in the path through the woods to make it Interesting.  Several large boulders had to be removed, and Ben plans to strategically relocate them along the path.  Their flat surfaces make them ideal for people who might need a place to sit.  Ben estimates that paving will be completed by the end of September.  It’s going well!
