RENEWALS

Good advice: plan ahead. Do not leave DMV renewals to the last minute.

Vehicle registration renewals: pay by mail, or drop off in letter slot in Town Hall front door.  The state sends out a registration renewal reminder a month before it is due that includes the amounts owed for each vehicle. Do not reduce payment to town by $3.00/vehicle unless you intend to go to State DMV office to get your renewal stickers.

Pay the full amount for each vehicle. Include a SELF-ADDRESSED, STAMPED ENVELOPE(SASE) as stated on the renewal notice.

If you did not receive a notice, but your vehicle renewal is due:

  1. Send a copy by mail or slip through mail slot in front door and
  2. TWO checks
    1. First check payable to the Town of New Castle
    2. Second check payable to NHDMV
    3. Sign both checks; Town Clerk will enter correct amount
    4. Include your phone number on checks

         3.      Include SELF-ADDRESSED, STAMPED ENVELOPE (SASE)

Renewals will be processed as usual by the Clerk, who will send your new stickers to you in the SASE you include with payment.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

VOTER REGISTRATION

New voters may register to vote on Election Day. If you absolutely must register before then, send your request via email or mail to the Town Clerk who will respond with a plan. Also the Supervisors of the Check List will hold open hours to register voters on June 2 at the Recreation Building from 7:00pm to 7:30pm.

ABSENTEE VOTING: Governor Sununu Executive Order excerpt:

In light of the current public health advisories related to COVID-19, any voter who in the voter’s judgment is being advised by medical authorities to avoid going out in public, or to self-quarantine, would qualify to vote by absentee ballot. This applies equally to voters who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or any other severe communicable flu, and those who are self-quarantining as a preventative measure. As the law does not define the term “disability” for the purpose of absentee voting, particularly in light of this guidance, any voter’s reasonable determination that he or she qualifies satisfies the law.
