Parking Enforcement
The New Castle Police Department strictly enforces the parking ordinances set forth by the Selectboard.
Many of the streets in New Castle are narrow and the homes are built right along the roadway. There is little room for pedestrian and vehicle traffic when vehicles park along the roadways. Illegally parked vehicles can block the views of motorists, bicyclists, runners, and pedestrians leading to traffic accidents. To that end, the New Castle Police Department consistently checks all roadways for illegally parked vehicles.
Parking tickets must be paid within 96 hours of issuance.
Payment of tickets can be made by mail using the envelope provided or dropped of to the Town Secretary on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The Secretary's Office is closed Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday.
